So you have gotten intrigued with the TRX system. You are convinced about its benefits and you are eager to give it a try. You might have already purchased your straps and mounts. Go ahead and install them so that you can finally start on your beginner TRX workout plan. It would be great if you have a personal trainer to guide you every step of the way. If you don’t have one, then you can depend on the official TRX resources online for guidance instead. Below are a few tips to keep in mind:

Use a Ceiling Mount for Freedom of Movement

The straps can be mounted at various locations. If you are outdoors, then mount them on a tree branch or a metal beam. The height is ideally between 7 feet and 9 feet. There should be no obstructions within 6 feet so that you can move around in any direction. Indoors, mount them on the ceiling and stay 6 feet away from the walls. This will be necessary for exercises such as rows and curls. If you mount on a door or a wall, then you will have limited options.

Place a Yoga Mat or Rubber Gym Tiles Underneath

Try to pull the straps hard before you begin. Check if it is sturdy enough to carry your weight. Just to be on the safe side, you may want to place a soft cushion underneath you like a yoga mat or rubber gym tiles. Make sure that these are big enough to cover you in case you fall. The straps are quiet tough but you can never be sure. Stop if you hear unusual creaking from the ceiling or if you notice that the straps are showing signs of damage.

Expect to Have a Short Adjustment Period

Some people use the TRX system and do well right away. Others may have some trouble stabilizing themselves in a few movements. Don’t feel bad if this happens to you. TRX is really challenging for the core. Perhaps you can do additional work exercises to strengthen these muscles for help in stabilization.

Do a Warm-up Prior to the Beginner TRX Workout, you should also warm your body up with light exercises before you attempt to tackle more intense once such as TRX. Go for a quick jog or a brisk walk. March in place or do jumping jacks. Get your blood flowing and elevate your heart rate.
