• You will pay an average of $103 per month for studio membership. Classes conducted in community centers and gym facilities cost between $50 and $100 a month. However, private studios are charged higher, and will cost you between $75 and $150 per month. The fee usually covers about 3 classes per week, though there are studios that offer unlimited classes throughout the week.

• Some studios will also chare you yearly membership fees of about $100. Some martial arts programs may require their members to join Martial Arts Federation for around $50-$60 annually.

• Studios that don’t charge yearly membership fees are likely to offer their programs in packages or bundles of $200 to $250 for 3 months unlimited classes

• Generally, sessions for children will cost 20 to 50 percent less than adults, and rates often vary with the age of the child.

• There are also studios that offer family rates, which are often discounted with around 10-20% less for 2 or more members.

• Some studios may also require students to buy their uniforms, shoes, and other protective wear. Tae Kwondo uniforms will cost you $10 to $50 while Kung Fu uniform often cost $27-$50. Judo uniforms also cost $30-$50.

• A set of protective gear (such as gloves, mouth piece, head gears and leg guards) cost between $40 t and $100.

• Some dojos charge as much as $200 in promotion fees per test. Ranking for black bet will also cost you more.

The above highlighted are some of the most common costs that you are likely to incur when you decide to enroll your kid in a local martial arts for kids program. Although some may appear to be on the higher side, you can still negotiate with the studio or school to scale down their rates further.
