The parameters that determine the correct exposure of New Mexio Landscape Photography are three and connected to each other. These include the ISO sensitivity of the sensor, the shutter speed and the opening of the diaphragm.

If you are going to shoot in Automatic these three parameters will not interest us; but, since you have purchased a Digital Camera, you will never go to shoot automatically. Unlike the old cameras where the film was present, in today’s machines there is the sensor that has the same functionality, that is the one to record the image. The sensor may be more or less sensitive to light. Thanks to the ISO sensitivity you can decide how sensitive the light must be to the light (the lower the value, the less sensitive the light sensor is).

For the ISOs you start with a low value (50, 100 or 200 ISO) and then reach a high value if you want to increase the sensitivity of the sensor. When you go to make a click the sensor is exposed to light for a certain period of time, so as to be able to capture the image. The shutter speed can be very long or very short depending on the needs.

If you are in front of a Formula 1 car, the shutter speed will need to be fast to capture the image. If the shutter speed was too slow you would get a blurred photo. The shutter speed in the cameras is indicated with integer values followed by quotation marks, to indicate the seconds. The shutter speeds below the seconds are indicated in fractions (1/20 = one twentieth of a second; 1/100 = a hundredth of a second and so on).

Keep in mind that a shutter speed of 1/500 of a second is faster than a shutter speed of 1/50 of a second. The opening of the diaphragm. Each camera has a mechanism called a diaphragm inside. It is a real mechanical system that creates a variable size hole, where light passes through it. If little light has to pass, the hole will be small; if a lot of light has to pass, the hole will be larger.

The amount of light that passes through the hole is determined based on reports; therefore the values of the diaphragm are indicated (in a universal way) with the numbers f /; can be f/1.2. A lower aperture number means that the diaphragm is very open, while a higher aperture number means that the diaphragm hole is smaller for New Mexio Landscape Photography.
