Technical Requirements

Before you try to showcase your creative side, make sure your images conform to these technical requirements for Amazon listing. All your pictures should, irrespective of type, be a square 1000x x 1000x image; use 85 percent of the frame; have the RGB color space; and be saved as either JPEG, GIF, or TIFF. These requirements are for the main photo. The primary photo has such discreet requirements because they should provide the customer a clear image of what your item looks like. It should be clear and distraction-free. With the secondary images, you can take some leeway.

Background and Lighting
