Since most goods enter Taipei via the Dadaocheng Wharf, Dihua Street became the repository of many affordable dry goods products. The street is also famous for its historic architecture, many of which are preserved to this day.

Elephant Mountain

This is the largest glass artwork in the world, hidden where the Red and Orange lines intersect. This stunning piece measures 30 meters in diameter and made of about 4,500 glass panels. It features imagery that represents the universe, humanity, and the country’s history.

Jiufen

Once you arrive in this tiny mountain village just an hour away from Taipei, take the Old Street and explore. This is a narrow alleyway where tea houses, pottery and souvenir shops, and tea houses line the street on both sides. The street also features those ubiquitous red lanterns, presenting an even beautiful view when they are lit at night. And don’t forget about the famous A-Mei Teahouse, a multi-story structure on a hilltop that offers a view of the Keelung Mountain.

Rainbow Village
